Appearance: Faint yellow powder.
Indication
It is used for treatment of infection caused by Escherichia coli, salmonella, pasteurella etc Gram-negative bacteria and mycobacterium tuberculosis, and infectious diseases caused by mycoplasma.
Dosage and administration
Calculated with oxytetracycline HCl, mix with water: to livestock: each 1L of water, 182~364mg, continuously use for 3~5days.
Adverse effect
1. Long-term use may cause double infection and damage in liver and kidney.
2. Ototoxicity: streptomycin most frequently causes vestibular damage. This kind of damage can aggravate along with the accumulation of continuous administration and in a dose-dependent manner.
3. Cat is sensitive to streptomycin. Normal dose may cause nausea, vomit, salivation and ataxia etc.
4. Neuromuscular blocking effect is normally caused by overdose of streptomycin. After general anesthesia in surgical operation to dogs and cats, while using together with penicillin and streptomycin to prevent from infection, accidental death often occurs.
Precautions
1. This product should not be used together with penicillins and drugs or feeds containing calcium salt, ferric salt and polyvalent metal ions.
2. While using together with strong diuretics, it may aggravate damage in kidney.
3. It should not be mixed with tap water containing much chlorine and alkaline solution.
4. Sick animals with severe damage in liver and kidney are forbidden to use.
Withdrawal period
Cattle, sheep, pig: 18 days.
Milk: 72 hours.
Storage: store in a dry place in sealed container, protected from light.
Shelf life: 2 years.
