The appearance of Abamectin (Avermectin) is pale yellow to white crystalline powder, tasteless. It is stable under normal conditions and will not be hydrolyzed at pH 5-9. Abamectin is a widely used insecticide and anthelmintic, also named Avermectin, it is a member of the Abamectin family and is a natural fermentation product of soil dwelling actinomycete Streptomyces avermitilis. Abamectin has stomach toxicity and touch killing effect on mites and insects, and cannot kill eggs.
1. Abamectins are slow to kill insects and mites, with a peak of dead insects 3 days after application, but on the day of application, pests and moths stop feeding and damage.
2. Abamectin is highly toxic to fish, so do not contaminate rivers and ponds with the solution when applying the drug, and do not apply the drug during the honeybee harvest period
Mode of action and characteristics
Contact killing, stomach toxicity, strong penetration. It is a macrolide disaccharide compound. It is a natural product isolated from soil microorganisms, which has contact and gastrotoxic effects on insects and mites and has a weak fumigation effect without internal absorption. However, it has a strong osmotic effect on leaves, can kill pests under the epidermis, and has a long residual effect period. It doesn't kill eggs. Its mechanism of action is different from that of general pesticides in that it interferes with neurophysiological activities and stimulates the release of r-aminobutyric acid, which has an inhibitory effect on nerve conduction in arthropods. Because it does not cause rapid dehydration of insects, its lethal effect is slow. However, although it has a direct killing effect on predatory and parasitic natural enemies, it has little damage to beneficial insects because of less residual plant surface. It has a significant effect on root node nematodes.
